SUNSYSTEM SWP NL 300 indirect domestic hot water tank for heat pumps

The SUNSYSTEM SWP NL 300 indirect domestic hot water tank is a DHW tank optimised for heat pump systems, featuring 1 coil heat exchanger with an extra-large heat transfer surface. Thanks to the enlarged heat exchanger surface, it delivers fast and efficient domestic hot water production even when connected to heat sources with lower flow temperatures, such as a heat pump.

The tank comes with a 265-litre capacity, titanium-enamelled internal surface protection, 50 mm thick rigid PU insulation and an external PVC jacket. The DHW tank is suitable for operation on the mains water system, at an operating pressure of up to 10 bar.

Through the built-in, large-surface coil heat exchanger, the tank can utilise heat energy from a heat pump, a condensing boiler or even solar thermal collectors. The heat exchanger coil with a surface area of 3.3 m² and a capacity of 20.4 litres provides a significantly larger heat transfer surface than average-sized heat exchangers, delivering outstanding domestic hot water performance.

The heat exchanger is located in the lower part of the tank, so the natural circulation of the heated water helps heat the entire water volume evenly. The relatively low operating temperature of the heat exchanger coil can also help reduce limescale build-up, even with continuous use.

The SUNSYSTEM SWP NL 300 features a recirculation connection, an inspection opening, a drain connection and 2 side measuring points. A thermometer or temperature sensor can be connected to the measuring points, and by installing a recirculation line, hot water can be available more quickly at the taps.

On request, the tank can be ordered for an additional charge with an electric heating element / thermostat set, as well as an accessory set consisting of an 8 bar safety valve, a thermometer and 3 height-adjustable feet. The electric heating element can be used as an alternative heat source, for example when the central heat generator is not in operation.

Heat exchanger optimised for heat pump systems

One of the most important advantages of the SUNSYSTEM SWP NL 300 is its heat exchanger coil with an extra-large heat transfer surface. In heat pump systems, the heating flow temperature is often lower than in conventional boiler-based systems, which makes a sufficiently large heat exchanger surface especially important. The 3.3 m² coil enables efficient heat transfer, so the tank can produce the required domestic hot water quickly.

Optional accessories

  • Electric heating element / thermostat set
  • Electric heating element with 3 / 4.5 / 6 kW output
  • 8 bar overpressure safety valve
  • Thermometer
  • 3 height-adjustable feet

Standard equipment

  • Heat exchanger coil with enlarged surface area
  • Mains water connections
  • Recirculation connection
  • Bottom / side inspection opening
  • Drain connection
  • 2 side measuring points for a temperature sensor or thermometer
  • 50 mm PU thermal insulation
  • PVC external cladding

Useful information about capacity

For domestic hot water tanks with a heat exchanger, it is worth distinguishing between nominal, gross and net capacity. The nominal capacity is a rounded figure intended for guidance, which often also appears in the product name. The gross capacity refers to the actual internal tank volume, including the heat exchanger and its internal capacity. The net capacity, by contrast, indicates the usable domestic hot water volume.

Recommended use

The SUNSYSTEM SWP NL 300 indirect DHW tank is an ideal choice for heat pump systems where fast domestic hot water production and efficient heat transfer are important. It can also be used in systems combined with a condensing boiler or solar thermal collectors, for detached houses, smaller apartment buildings or buildings with higher hot water demand.
